Whale Watching - Hermanus & Gansbaai

Seeing a whale breach the cold ocean surface is one of those magical moments that will be etched in your memory forever!

Hermanus is known throughout the world for the best land based whale watching.

You are guaranteed to at least see a Southern Right or Humpback whale from July to December. Here you could see up to 15 of these gigantic mammals playing, mating and calving. Their tales can be seen waving from the water while a sudden fountain of water is a tell tale sign of a whale at hand. Ultimately you may see a 40 ton whale launching itself from the ocean and landing with a thunderous splash.
