    Day One

    The Cape Peninsula and Cape Point

    We travel along the spectacular coastline of the Cape Peninsula to the most South-westerly tip of Africa, where the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet. On the way we pass through the world famous beach spots of Clifton and Camps Bay before we drive along the scenic Chapman’s Peak, known for it’s 180* views. Hout Bay is where we will stop for an optional boat trip to Seal Island to view the colony of Cape Fur Seals. We travel through Noordhoek where 6 km of pristine beach is a playground for horse lovers and kite surfers. The Cape Peninsula Nature Reserve is reached after a date with the penguins at Bolders Beach. The rarest antelope in Africa, the Bontebok, can be seen here as well as the Chacma Baboon and ostriches.

    We will enjoy lunch at the Two Oceans Restaurant perched high above the crashing waves from where you can enjoy the incredible vistas.

    We make our way to Stellenbosch via the naval port of Simons Town and quaint fishing villages of Fish Hoek and Kalk Bay.

    Wineland to Hermanus

    Start the day off with a walk around historical Stellenbosch. Thereafter we visit a wine farm where a cellar tour will be conducted after a wine tasting. The village of Franschhoek is our next destination where we stop for a light lunch followed by a champagne tasting at a well known vineyard. Franschhoek mountain pass awaits us as we journey towards Hermanus.

    We will enter Hermanus via Rotary Way for unparalleled views of the coastline, whales and dolphins.

    World famous land based whale watching, Shark cage diving

    Today we are going to experience the most amazing whale viewing where Humpback whales and Southern Right whales gather during August to November to calf in the safety of the deep harbour waters.  Excellent viewing from the Old Harbour and various other viewpoints. After lunch we will return to Cape Town via the coastal route famous for its never ending views and indigenous fynbos in the Kogelberg Nature Reserve. The reserve is known as the ‘floristic heart’ of the Cape Floral Kingdom.  It has the highest levels of plant species in the entire fynbos biosphere. Time permitting we will stop off at Stony Point to view the Penguin colony.
