We visit the famous Constantia Wine region which nestles against the back of Table Mountain and from a historical perspective, this is where the first vineyard was established in South Africa by Simon Van Der Stel ( the governor of the Cape ) in 1685.
The day starts with a visit to STEENBERG VINEYARD, a modern contemporary example of a wine estate, lovely champagne and wines the order of the day in beautiful surroundings.
Next up we visit GROOT CONSTANTIA VINEYARD, the first estate to be established in South Africa. Here we visit the cellar to take a look at the behind the scenes action before indulging in a Choc/wine tasting where 5 chocolates have been paired with 5 wines.
Lunch is at LA COLOMBE voted in the Top 50 Restaurants in the world and is a set food wine pairing experience.
We end the day at CONSTANTIA GLEN VINEYARD which overlooks the Constantia valley and is known for the excellent wine.
