Description

A personalized, relaxing, informative day out with beautiful scenery, history, wildlife and Wine ! A day to remember.

This popular tour takes you to the most South Western tip of Africa where the cold Benguela current of the Atlantic Ocean meets the warmer Agulus current of the Indian Ocean. The Cape Point Reserve is also home to various animals and birds and a chance encounter with the famous chacma baboons is one that will be remembered.

The day starts on our departure for the  world-famous beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay where we drive along some of our most scenic coastlines via the Twelve Apostles mountain range on our way to the fishing village of Hout Bay where in previous centuries Elephants and Leopards were hunted in the magnificent natural forests that lent its name to this beautiful Bay. Unfortunately, all that remains today are the memories

The next stage of our journey along Chapman’s Peak drive is truly breathtaking in its grandeur. Cut into the side of the mountain the 9km route with its 114 curves follows the rocky coastline to unfold stunning views in all directions before we descend into the village of Noordhoek with its famous Longbeach where horses are often seen galloping along the  8km stretch of beach.

We pass through the fishing villages of Kommetjie  and Scarborough before arriving at the Cape Point Nature reserve. Here we spend some leisure time taking a ride in the funicular [ optional ]to the lighthouse perched 248 meters above sea level before heading for the Cape of Good Hope to have our photo taken in front of the world-famous sign indicating our position on the continent of Africa.

Our return journey is via the  African Penguin colony at Boulders beach and through the Naval town of Simonstown to the quaint fishing village of Kalk Bay where we stop for lunch at Harbour House  Restaurant perched on the edge of the ocean with amazing vistas.

After lunch, we travel along the scenic Boyes Drive with amazing views over False Bay before  we leave the coastline at  the surfing village  of Muizenberg heading inland towards the Constantia Wine region, here we visit the oldest Vineyard in South Africa namely Groot Constantia   (circa 1685)  where we walk around the gardens and view the magnificent Manor House built in the Cape Dutch style before partaking in a wine tasting in their cellar.

After some free time, we head back to Cape Town to arrive around 5.30 pm
